Welcome to a Spirit-led, Christ-centered Community of Love, Grace and Trust that Ministers to All People.

Welcome to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church of Phoenix, Arizona. I am so glad you visited this site. If you are new, that is exciting. I am relatively new, too. I arrived here in August of 2015. You should know that you have been in my prayers.  In advance, I have prayed for every single person who would view this web page. My continued prayers are for the many diverse people who will experience the presence of Jesus through this faith community. Together we will seek to be Jesus in the midst of the city of Phoenix. We strive to recognize and nurture Jesus in ourselves and each person whom we encounter along the way. Please accept this as an invitation to come worship on Saturday or Sunday to experience for yourself the presence of Jesus in our midst. Click Here to learn more about the worship styles and times. When you do come, let's meet.  I would love to say, "Welcome to your new faith home". Until then, know that Jesus is with you each and every single day.  It does not matter who you are, what you have done, what your background is, if you are religious or not- You are loved by God.

Let's Connect by email or let's be friends on Facebook.

Many of you may not be aware of this ministry that has been active for 20 years or more. SOV members and the general public can call in by phone to listen to a brief, recorded, scripture-based message and a prayer. The content is intended to be inspiring, comforting or encouraging for callers who may be struggling with the ups and downs of daily living, or for callers who simply want to utilize another avenue to connect with God. A new Dial-a-Prayer message is activated every two or three days. Dial-a-Prayer reminder cards are available on the information tables in the main entries to the Nave and the chapel. Take one for your refrigerator door—and maybe one to give to a friend or prayer partner!

To find out about joining the Dial-a-Prayer team, contact Bert Sass: 602-402-3704 (With a few more on the team, we could have a fresh prayer message every day!)
